Lady Gaga’s Inaugural Dove Pin for Peace

Lady Gaga’s Inaugural Dove Pin for Peace

In one of the most moving moments of Inauguration Day, Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem and shared a message of peace and resilience. Her jewelry sent an unmistakable message: a gold pin in the shape of a dove with an olive branch in its mouth, a powerful symbol of peace and unity. She also wore olive branch ear cuffs.

Before the ceremony, Lady Gaga tweeted that singing the National Anthem for the American people was a great honor. “I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change—between POTUS 45 and 46. For me, this has great meaning,” she wrote. “My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land.”

As she sang “our the flag was still there,” she pointed at the flag flying above the capital which was besieged by rioters on January 6, just two weeks before Inauguration Day.

At Girl Up, we created our Dove Collection and Olive Branch Collection as modern symbols of peace and global unity. Wearing a sparkling dove jewelry design means you believe, like Lady Gaga, that peace and unity are possible and that you can work to make global peace possible.
